Veteran coach, Fatai Amoo was on Thursday unveiled as the technical adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, ahead of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season scheduled to begin next month.
This will be the third time Amoo will coach the Oluyole Warriors.
The former international was unveiled at the office of the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Abayomi Oke, after signing a two-year deal.
Amoo, who took charge of 3SC between 2009 and 2011 is to assume duty immediately.
Speaking with Tribunesport, Amoo, a member of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Dream Team which got the bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics said he is at home in Ibadan.
“I’m very excited to be appointed as the technical adviser of 3SC. I don’t really entertain any fear because I know I’m back home and I feel very comfortable working in Ibadan.
“I’m ready to work with other members of the coaching crew, I am in the midst of hospitable people because we know one another very well and I believe we will get things right soon with the support of everybody.
“I want to make name for myself and 3SC again. Whereever I go outside the country, people always ask of Shooting Stars and Rangers and that confirms that 3SC is a big club and we must make it come up again.
“I am ready to take up the task and by the grace of God, we will conquer,” the former Julius Berger FC and Sunshine Stars coach said.
In his message, Oke said “Amoo has a plan for Shooting Stars and is concerned about the future of the team and that was he signed a two-year contract. We are very happy that we have a coach of his pedigree to handle this team. On our side, the welfare of the team remains paramount to us”.
Also, the General Manager of 3SC, Rasheed Balogun said the team settled for “the right hand” adding “this is a man that understands this club very well”.
