The Real Betis full back has bemoaned the inability of Georges Leekens to choose his best legs when they face the Super Eagles on Saturday
Aissa Mandi has revealed his displeasure at the unavailability of key players for Algeria owing to injury ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifing match away in Nigeria.
The Greens have seen influential figures such as 2017 Afcon qualifiers top goalscorer El Arabi Hillel Soudani, Rachid Ghezzal and Ryad Boudebouz pull out of the all important tie against Gernot Rohr’s men. It has also deprived Bordeaux’s youngster Adam Ounas a chance to make his debut after switching his allegiance from France to the North Africans.
“We’ll have to be very focused and we put the necessary resources to get a result there,” Mandi told Le Buteur.
“It’s always annoying to have them absent. But we have a fairly large group to replace them.”
The Real Betis player also slammed talks about the team’s defence frailties as a problem only for the backline to solve.
“We’re a team; if we conceded a goal against Cameroon, the whole team is concerned. Everyone is affected by the offensive work and defensive work. we must stop putting the defense on one side, the attack on the other. The attackers were the first defenders.”
