The two players in question are Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez and French forward Karim Benzema.
According to a report today in ‘DiarioMadridista’, the Germans are looking to assemble the most competitive squad in the whole of Europe and are ready to chase some top quality players as a result.
Ancelotti himself admitted last week that the Bavarians are prepared to spend big this summer and it appears that their first port of call could be the Bernabeu.
James’ departure would not come as too great a surprise, the Colombian has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Zinedine Zidane’s side and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Benzema’s departure on the other hand would come as a shock, the player is one of the first names on the teamsheet in the Spanish capital and a vital part of Zidane’s ‘BBC’ strikeforce.
The same source claims that the offer from Bayern is already on the table, though it is unlikely that Florentino Perez will be prepared to let either player go without a fight.
It remains to be seen what the players will decide and if Real will even allow the pair to leave but one thing is for sure, the transfer window is hotting up nicely already.
