Barcelona’s pursuit of Coutinho took a significant step forward on Tuesday morning when club directors touched down in England to try and push through a deal for the Brazilian.
Liverpool have reportedly accepted that the 25-year-old wants to leave for the Nou Camp and are now just waiting for the right price.
The Spanish club’s initial offer of £72m was firmly rejected, but the three directors are now ready to return with an improved figure and are confident they can finalise the deal before returning to Spain on Tuesday evening.
Once the Coutinho deal is over the line, Barcelona officials will turn their attention to Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembélé.
