As part of measures put in place to ensure Wikki Tourists excel at this year’s continental campaign, the Bauchi State government has awarded the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium football pitch to Messrs Reforms Sports West Africa.
In the award letter dated 6th January, 2017 and signed by Nasiru Maigari on behalf of the Commisioner for Youth and Sports in Bauchi State and made available to Tribunesport, the contract was awarded to the company in line with the due process.
The letter reads in part: “In line with due process procedures, His Excellency has approved the award of a contract to Messrs Reforms Sports West Africa Ltd, a subsidiary of Reforms Group Nigeria Ltd, for the rehabilatation and upgrading of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Football Pitch, Bauchi.”
Confirming the development, Godwin Emokhare, Head, Administration, Messrs Reform Sports West Africa Ltd, while speaking with Tribunesport, commended the Bauchi State government for awarding the contract to his company, saying that it shows its readiness to give Wikki Tourists the desired support the club needed to excel during their continental assignment.
Emokhare, speaking further, assured that his company will do a good job and meet with up with the target for the pitch to ready on time for use by the Bauchi team in readiness for its continental assignment later in the year.
