Both attacking midfielders have enjoyed mixed campaigns with Real Madrid. Though Real, who did the La Liga and Champions League double, certainly got more out of the former Málaga man.
Francisco Román Alcorcón or ‘Isco’ grew stronger as the season went on, becoming a key bart of Zinedine Zidane’s side due to the continued absence of Gareth Bale through injury, going on to be a key player in many games. The same cannot be said of James, who struggled to force his way into the side for a sustained period and has been linkned with a number of moves since the season ended.
Nevertheless, both players have seen their values drop by some €15 million according to the CIES study. James is now worth €44.2 million, compared to 58.7 million last year. Isco on the other hand, has dropped from €60.4 million to €45.1 million.
