According to Sky sources, Marseille are preparing to make a third bid for West Ham’s want away midfielder Dimitri Payet.
It has been revealed that a second offer from the French side of around £20m, over the transfer for the 29-year-old failed to fall through, after talks were held on Monday.
Former West Ham defender Tony Gale has told Sky Sports News that want away forward Dmitri Payet hasn’t even been speaking to his own team-mates
The France international, spent two seasons with Marseille before joining the Hammers, is understood to have turned down numerous offers from clubs in England and China. He wants to leave West Ham and return to Marseille for family reasons.
West Ham are believed to want at least £30m for their most prized asset, with Marseille’s previous offers understood to have been around £11m and £10m shy of that figure.
Payet informed West Ham boss Slaven Bilic of his desire to leave the club last week and he was omitted from their squad for the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace last Saturday.
Payet trained with West Ham’s U23 squad on Wednesday, having worked one-to-one with training staff at their academy base in Chadwell Heath on Tuesday.
