According to Spanish newspaper ‘AS’, PSG have now emerged as genuine contenders for the 18-year-old’s signature and the situation has become somewhat ‘difficult’.
Despite his tender years Mbappe shone last season as Monaco stormed to the Ligue 1 title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, scoring 26 goals in 44 games in all competitions.
However ‘AS’ believes that Real now risk being drawn into an expensive bidding war over both the transfer fee and wages.
According to ‘The Daily Mail’, PSG are prepared to pay the Frenchman £10.5m a year, nearly double what the Spanish giants were offering.
Real have been taken aback by the offer and it is unsure at this moment in time if they are prepared to match it.
Reports claim that PSG have also made a formal bid for Mbappe, offering their Ligue 1 rivals in the region of £120m for the player, which would make him the most expensive player in history.
Despite all this Monaco still hope to convince the player that he is best served by staying at the club.
