According to Italian newspaper, ‘La Gazzetta Dello Sport’, Roma will return with a fresh offer for the defender. Despite serious interest from the Italian side in January, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane refused to let the player leave, with him going on to rack up 39 appearances in all compeititons, scoring 3 goals.
Zidane’s stance ramins the same, that Nacho will not be allowed to leave the club this summer as he is seen as a model professional. Though it appears that Roma intend to test their resolve on that front.
Monchi is aware of Zidane’s position and so has lined up several alternative options, with Las Palmas’ 21-year-old Uruguayan defender Muaricio Lemos his preferred plan B, however Monchi will only pursue Lemos if he is unable to convince Real to part with Nacho.
