The Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) has joined Nigerians in the diaspora as well as the Federal Government and Ministry of Youth and Sports to congratulate Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua on winning the WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles.
The 2012 London Olympic gold medallist, last Saturday at the Wembley Stadium stopped Wladimir Klitschko in Round 11 of their 12-round scheduled world title fight to take his record to 19-0.
Newly-elected president of NBB of C, Dr Rafiu Ladipo in a congratulatory message said he was overwhelmed by the victory of the Nigerian-born boxer adding that he is proud of his style of beating his opponent.
“Honestly, we at NBB of C are proud of him and we are looking forward to hosting him [Joshua] in due course,” Ladipo, who is also the President General of Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club (NFSC) said.
