DEFENDER Doria has described Marseille team-mate Dimitri Payet as one of the best players in the world.
The playmaker rejoined Les Phoceens during the winter window after growing frustrated with life at West Ham and, after a mixed start, appears to be rediscovering his form.
Payet has netted twice and added two assists in his seven outings to date and is seen as a key cog in their bid for a late run for the European places.
Doria, who has been at the Stade Velodrome since 2014, admits he has been blown away by his new team-mate, who he believes is up there with the best.
“Payet is one of the best players in the world,” Doria told Goal. “I already knew him from my first spell. He’s a very funny guy, and he’s a determined player with a lot of technique.
“I’m glad to see him come back. Mainly, I’m glad that he succeeded after leaving and then returned while still at the same level. I think it’s important.”’
