Barca’s interest in the player in no secret, but with any move threatening to become a summer saga it seems that Verratti has opted for a change of tactic.
According to Spanish paper ‘Mundo Deportivo’, the player will arrive in Paris today to discuss his future with the club as he looks to force an exit from the club.
The Catalans have been heavily linked with a move for Verratti this summer, with PSG growing frustrated with their public approach.
Any potential deal for Verratti will not come cheap and whether he stays or goes will have a major impact on PSG’s business this summer. If he leaves, the Parisians are understood to have identified Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho as a potential replacement, though it is understood that they would not be able to pursue that deal should Verratti stay, due to the high cost involved.
Similarly, the deal would have a major impact on Barca, with rumours already surfacing identifying the likes of Ander Herrera and Paulinho as potential alternative targets should the powers that be in Paris convince Verratti to stay.
