No fewer than 130 golfers are expected at this year’s BOVAS Golf tournament scheduled for this weekend at Tiger Golf Club, Odogbo, Cantonment, Ibadan.
The tournament which is sponsored by the BOVAS and company Limited would attract golfers across the country to battle for honours.
Speaking, chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the competition, Mr Chris Nzekea said logistics have been put in place towards ensuring a hitch-free tournament.
He laud the company for their commitment to the promotion of golf in the country while urging other corporate bodies to emulate BOVAS.
“The tournament is about promotion of golf within Ibadan and its environs, this is the fourth edition of the tournament and BOVAs use it to develop golf, a game which always shows the integrity of an individual.

“We really appreciate BOVAS and company Limited for sponsoring this tournament in the last four years and we hope other corporate bodies would take a tip from them and promote the game of golf.
“We are expecting no fewer than 130 golfers to take part in the tournament but at present, we have over 100 players who have shown interest already,” Nzeka said.
The cocktail is scheduled for Friday, August 23 as ceremonial tee off is scheduled for 7am on Saturday, while the closing ceremony is billed to take place the same day at 6pm.
