160 golfers set for TGC Captain’s Inaugural tourney

A one-day Captain’s  inaugural tournament at Tiger Golf Club (IGC), to celebrate the newly-elected Captain, Barrister Tunde Akande, scheduled for this weekend at the club’s premises is expected to attract up to 160 golfers.

Speaking, chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mr Muyiwa Laniyan, disclosed that all is set to make the tournament a memorable one with the calibre of golfers showing interest in participating in the tourney.

He said the tournament is designed to accommodate 160 players (125 males and 25 females) with established club handicap.

Laniyan stated that COVID-19 precautions will be adhered to strictly during the tournament as each participant must come with a face mask as part of COVID-19 protocols.

“I want to assure you that everything is being put in place to make the tournament memorable and enjoyable for participants. There won’t be congestion of golfers at the starter point as social distancing will be maintained.

“A lot of captains from various clubs in the country have signified their intention to attend and we are assuring of a hitch-free tournament.”
