No fewer than 180 golfers are expected to participate in the 26th Tiger Amateur Open Golf tournament billed to take place from December 10 to 12 at the Tiger Golf Club (TGC), Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan.
According to the Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC), Brigadier-General Richard Pam, the Tiger Open which is the biggest amateur golf tournament in Nigeria will see a number of top golfers across the country compete for prizes in various categories of the event.
Pam disclosed that General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General G.U. Chibuisi would tee off the tournament.

He said this year’s edition would be unique with the “new look of the course including expanded greens and white beach sand in bunkers coupled with the hospitality of the club that we are known for” adding that “veteran and super veterans are expected to feature at the tournament”.

The arrival/cocktail is scheduled for December 10, as the tee-off will commence from 7:00 am on December 11 same time on Day 2 while the closing ceremony billed to take place on December 12 at 4:00pm.

He said some of the clubs expected to participate in the two-day tourney include, are Ikeja Golf Club, Ekiti Golf Club, Kaduna Golf Club, Jaji Golf Club, Ibom Golf Club, Otukpo Golf Club, IBB Country Golf Club, Ikoyi Golf Club, Abeokuta Golf Club, Sagamu Golf Club, MicCom and Country Golf Club, Ada, Tiger Golf Club, and Ogbomoso Golf Club, among others.
