No fewer than 250 golfers from across Nigeria are expected at the one-day golf tourney in honour of the immediate-past Captain of Ilorin Golf Club (IGC), Prince Segun Oyinlola.
Speaking with CorporateSport, Oyinlola said the tournament scheduled for this weekend is to mark his stewardship as captain of the club in the last two years.
“Already, we have about 150 players on the list who want to come to Ilorin and even some also called that they will come for the tourney and their names are not even on the list. So, our expectations is between 180 and 200 golfers, they might not all be able to play because the course cannot accomodate 200 golfers but some are coming to celebrate me and we are also prepared.”
Also, chairman, Organising Committee, Barrister Tony Gbebaje said adequate logistics have been put in place to make the event a memorable one and the major sponsors of the tournament is UfitFly.

Meanwhile, First Lady of Kwara State, Dr (Mrs) Olufolake Abdulrazaq was presented with a plaque to commemorate her appointment as the Matron of the Ilorin Golf Club.
Prince Oyinlola who presented the plaque lauded Mrs Abdulrazaq for her timely intervention on the water challenge that the club has faced in recent years, adding that water is now running in the club.
He added that the golf course is now ready to host events which include a special children’s programme, the male and female tournaments that the club had hitherto had challenges hosting despite the Kwara teams attending tournaments in other states.
