2018 CHAN: Morocco for final, beat Libya 3-1

HOSTS Atlas Lions of Morocco on Wednesday qualified for the final of the ongoing 5th African Nations Championship (CHAN) following a 3-1 victory over the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
The first semi-final game decided at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca ended in a stalemate after 90 minutes but the match did not go beyond extra time.
Ayoub El Kaabi put Morocco ahead in the 73rd minute when he connected Hadraf’s cross with a downward header.
The Lions maintained the lead until in the 86th minute when Abdulrahman Khalleefa cashed in on the blunder by goalkeeper Anas Zniti who was challenged in possession to draw parity.
El Kaabi put the Atlas Lions of Morocco back in front seven minutes into extra time, as the striker’s tap-in off a corner kick took his goal tally in the competition to eight.
Walid El Karti sealed the victory for the Lions in the 117th minute when he won a soft penalty and neatly converted it.
Meanwhile, Morocco will face the winner of the second semi-final tie between Nigeria and Sudan in the final.
