Give me more than 100%, Rohr orders Eagles

Nigeria’s Head coach, Gernot Rohr, has read the Riot Act to the Super Eagles towards tomorrow’s international friendly against Serbia at the Barnet Stadium in England.

The Eagles four days ago defeated Poland by a lone goal in Wroclaw but the Franco-German trainer on Sunday warned that it was time to sit up.

”This is the time we must show improvement over what we saw in Wroclaw,” he told journalists at FC Barnet Stadium on Sunday.

” I guess we can’t make this lighter but we can get it wrong. I know London is another home to Nigerians but we must tell our fans we need their understanding so that we keep our focus,” Rohr apparently referring to hordes of Nigerians who flooded Super Eagles afternoon training.

He expects tomorrow’s game to be more explosive than Friday’s.

”Every trial game for the World Cup is an opportunity for the players to convince, and show they worth a place in the team. This is not about giving 100 per cent, you give more if you have to spare. We are happy the way things are going on”

Rohr added that he was a little disappointed that team skipper, Mikel Obi will be missing for the second game running.

”We know we are incomplete without him. Mikel has been with the national team for a long time. I mean everybody here met him on ground. We missed him against Poland and we taught he would be able to make it with us here yet it is part of the game, we have to live with harsh reality, it is not every time that we will always have our way.”
