3rd National Para Games: 18 medals up for grabs in table tennis event

With few days to the commencement of the 3rd National Para Games tagged “Abuja 2026”, excitement is building around para table tennis, one of the most dynamic and fast-paced events of the Games.

The Games, holding from March 26 to April 3, 2026, will bring together over 3,000 athletes from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, competing across 15 para sports in a celebration of resilience, inclusion, and excellence.

However, the para table tennis will feature 18 medal events, bringing together athletes competing in both wheelchair and standing classifications.

Matches are expected to deliver intense rallies, quick reflex exchanges and strategic gameplay that underline the high level of preparation among athletes.

The competition will showcase a diverse range of athletes competing across multiple classes, ensuring fairness and inclusivity while highlighting the technical brilliance and resilience of participants. Para Table Tennis has continued to grow in prominence in Nigeria, producing world-class athletes who have excelled at continental and global competitions.

The event at Abuja 2026 will serve as a key platform for talent discovery and development, while also offering athletes the opportunity to position themselves for future international championships.
