3SC management assures fans of Malomo’s stay

…..seeks more of Gov Makinde’s backing, media support ahead of new season

The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, has assured the teeming fans of the club that mercurial midfielder, Taofeek Malomo will remain with the team.

Rumours in the past few hours, have linked the dazzling winger with a move to clubs like Akwa United of Uyo and Bendel Insurance of Benin.

However,, the management of the Oluyole Warriors, while noting that 3SC has not been approached by any club for the signature of the former Joy Cometh FC player, insisted he remains a Shooting Stars’ player

General Manager 3SC, Dimeji Lawal and the club’s head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, while answering question on the authenticity of the speculation, declared that the U-23 national team player remains a player of the Ibadan soccer lords.

Corroborating the GM”s stand, coach Ogunbote, fondly called the Oracle said. “Like my GM has assured, we will definitely keep Malomo, all things been equal”.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State darling club has, while appreciating the unflinching support of the state government, asked for more backing just as it solicited for the support of the media as well as the teaming supporters of the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

At the media parley, the 3SC management, admitted that the team fell short of the expectations of it’s teeming fans in the just concluded season, with an apology for the disappointment.

The management assures of a better 2023/24 season, which is tentatively slated to kick off late August.

“We knew we performed below the belt in the just concluded season, and we use this medium to tender our apology to the government and people of Oyo State and our backers cut across the globe

“We have already commenced moves to have a better outing next season and I can tell you that with what we are working on, we will surely deliver.

“All we are asking for is more support from our ever supportive governor (Engineer Seyi Makinde) and you members of the media. Together, we will surely make it happen,” stated the club’s acting General Manager, Dimeji Lawal.

Apart from the acting General Manager and the head coach, the Director of Administration and Supply, Alhaji Rahman Olapade, Chairman 3SC Supporters Club, Mr Femi Ajala, a top official of the Supporters Club, Elder Akinade, were also present at the parley.
