3SC part ways with Ebiaku, Adebogun, Abu, jimoh, Olabisi, Sodiq

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have realeased 20 players following their unimpressive performance in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The Oluyole Warriors who finished 17th on the log of the Nigerian Premier League decided deecided to lay off the players 20 players ahead of their campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL) come next season.

Some of the affected players include the team’s assistant captain, Sylvanus Ebiaku, Olabisi Samuel, Wasiu Jimoh, Suraj Sodiq, Charlse Tambe, Tolulope Olaifa, Lekan Bola, Babalola Ibrahim, Merenini Junior, Samuelson Owono, Tayo Adebogun, Abu Azeez, Obisesan Waheed, Assiri Emmanuel and Ibrahim Salawu.

According to the Media Officer of the team, Jubril Arowolo in a statement, the management made the move in a bid to restructure the club as they look to return to the NPFL immediately.

He said “As part of its restructuring programme to immediately return Shooting Stars Football Club to the elite division of the Nigerian League, the management of the team has released 20 players out of the 40 registered last season.

“The decision to release the players and place them on transfer market was taken after evaluating the contributions and performances of every player in the team that got relegated from the Premier League.

The players retained for next season are Abubakar Adamu, Michael Uweru, Kayode Bankole, Seun Akinyemi, Alaba Osawe, Omololu Waheed, Opeyemi Adetoyi, Oginni Olatubosun, Ayobami Abiodun Jnr, Shile Ibrahim, Sunday Faleye, Jide Apena, Abayomi Adebayo and Rafiu Wasiu.

Others are Shittu Taiwo, Isiaq Rafiu, Ajani Ibrahim, Kunle Olukokun, Bode Daniel and Sherrif Sanda.

Arowolo also added that some new players will be added to the retained squad after a thorough screening.

It will be recall that 3SC, ABS, Remo Stars and Gombe United were the relegated team in the just concluded NPFL season.
