3SC’ll bounce back soon – Makinde

Rasheed Adewuyi | New York

OYO State governor-elect, Mr Seyi Makinde, has pledged to revamp the state’s darling football club, the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, currently playing in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Makinde made this pledge during a town hall meeting he held recently in Minnesota, United States, while being hosted by members of Ibadan Descendants Union of Minnesota and the Egbe Omo Oduduwa in the state.

The governor-elect promised the teeming fans of the 3SC that his administration will support the management of the Oluyole soccer warlords financially in their bid to gain promotion to the elite division in no time, adding that maintenance of the club would be sustained throughout his tenure.

“The incoming government will not only focus on football; we shall also look into other sports in Oyo State to enable the state to tap budding talents ahead of future national and international competitions,” the governor-elect said.

Tribunesport reliably gathered that the present 3SC board may be dissolved anytime from May 29. Makinde was elected on the platform of a political party different from that of the outgoing government.

On the deplorable state of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Makinde assured that the stadium would be renovated to a high standard and the management would be monitored by the sports ministry.
