Following his Leagues Cup title wins with Inter Miami, Argentina captain and World Cup winner,  Lionel Messi has now become the outright most decorated player in football history with 44 titles.

The seven-time Balon d’Or winner surpassed his former Barcelona teammate Dani Alves, who was earlier tied on 43 titles with him.

Messi reached the new milestone after his Inter Miami side won their first-ever title following their penalty shootout win against Nashville SC in the Leagues Cup final.

The former Barcelona star recorded 10 goals and one assist in seven appearances at the Leagues Cup tournament, a stat that earned him the top scorer and best player of the tournament awards.

Messi has now won 35 titles with Barcelona, 5 titles with Argentina, 3 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, and 1 title with Inter Miami.
