Speaking at a press conference held at the Amahoro Stadium on Thursday, the Al-Khalood defender acknowledged the constant pressure that comes with representing Nigeria.

“Playing for a big football nation like Nigeria comes with pressure and criticism—it’s part of the game.

“I’ve had discussions with the team, and we see the pressure as a privilege. Our focus is to make the fans proud,” Ekong stated.

Currently, Nigeria sits fifth in the group with three points, while Rwanda leads the standings with seven points.
