The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Moor Plantation, Ibadan, is set to host its much-anticipated Provost Games 2026, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on July 1, 2026, at the Bora Football Field.
The month-long biennial sporting festival is expected to bring together staff and students in a celebration of athletic excellence, unity, and healthy competition.
This year’s games will feature a variety of sporting events, including a football league, track and field competitions, as well as indoor games such as table tennis, scrabble, ayo olopon, chess, and draughts. Competitions will be held in both male and female categories to encourage broad participation across the college community.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Director of Sports, Dr. Dapo ‘Holard’ Agbato, said preparations had been concluded to ensure a successful tournament. He noted that the games would introduce exciting innovations and well-organised fixtures aimed at providing participants and spectators with a memorable experience.
Agbato, who has been recognised for promoting sports as a tool for public health education and community engagement, said the competition would further strengthen relationships among staff and students while encouraging physical fitness.

Also expressing enthusiasm, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, Akanbi Adeola, described the Provost Games as an important platform for students to showcase their talents, promote unity, and foster healthy competition within the institution.
“The Provost Games provide a great opportunity for students to display their sporting abilities while strengthening the bond among members of the college community,” he said.
The Acting Provost of the college, Dr. Chidi Okpeze, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to the success of the games, stressing that sports remain a vital tool for promoting discipline, resilience, teamwork, and camaraderie among students and staff.
He assured participants of the college management’s full support, adding that the event reflects the institution’s longstanding tradition of excellence.
With preparations in top gear, the Provost Games 2026 is expected to be more than a sporting competition, serving as a celebration of community spirit, youthful energy, and the enduring legacy of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan.
