The Oyo State Government has appointed Coach Akande Fatai Adejumon-Smith as the new technical director of Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso.
The move reaffirms its determination to return the club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Wasilat Adegoke, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, announced this on Tuesday during the official signing of the contract agreement with the newly appointed Technical Director, held at her office.
Adegoke described the appointment as a strategic move by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to remodel and strengthen Crown FC into a formidable side capable of securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Commissioner charged Coach Fatai to approach his new assignment with diligence, professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment, noting that the state government has confidence in his wealth of experience and technical competence to deliver the desired results.
She reiterated the Makinde administration’s unwavering commitment to sports development, emphasising that the government will continue to invest in talents, infrastructure, and quality personnel to ensure Oyo State remains a leading force in Nigerian sports.
Responding, Coach Fatai expressed profound appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Commissioner for finding him worthy of the appointment.
He described Adegoke as a goal-driven leader whose passion for sports development is inspiring.
Coach Fatai assured the government and the people of Oyo State that he would deploy his wealth of experience and expertise to rebuild Crown FC and guide the club to greater heights.
The Crown FC technical director further solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders, expressing confidence that with the collective commitment of the government, management, supporters, and players, Crown FC would achieve its set objectives.
He said, “The sports business around Crown FC is strong enough to sustain the club’s growth and development. With the right support and commitment, we will build a competitive team that the people of Oyo State will be proud of.”
