Active Sports ready for All Stars, 3SC Charity Cup

Active Sports has expressed its readiness for a Charity match between Nigeria International football stars and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) scheduled for June 10 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The match will see the likes of Europe-based stars, Isaac Success, Taiwo Awoniyi, Arsenal Kelechi Nwakali, Orji Okonkwo, Sadiq Umar, Victor Osimhiem, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Nura Abdullahi, Kingsley Michael and Chima Akas.

Speaking at the Press Conference at the Indoor of the Lekan Salami Sport complex, the organiser of the programme, Femi Olaniran disclosed that all arrangements are in place to make the tournament a memorable one.

He said the programme is aimed at giving back to the community by the players that are ready to storm the city come June 10.

Olaniran said the euro-based stars specifically picked Ibadan having started their football career in Ibadan.

“This charity match is being aimed at giving back to the community and we expect to have notable players around for the match.

The choice of Shooting Stars was because of their historical, background with stars players.

Also speaking, the Team Manager, 3SC, Dimeji Lawal pledged their total support for the tournament saying they will get necessary support from 3SC during and after the match.

Meanwhile, the acting General Manager, Oyo State Sports Council, Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Gboyega Makinde applauded the organisers for bringing such programme to Ibadan.

Makinde said he hoped to see more of such that promote sports and entertainment in Lagos.

The match will attract second Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi; Mallam Ahmed Fresh, among others, will be donating to Tabitha Home.
