Adeyemo tennis tourney ends in glamour

A three-week staggered tournament organized by the Oshogbo Tennis Club has ended on a glamorous note with winners carting home various prices.

The competition, sponsored by Otunba Caleb Adeyemo, was organised to mark his birthday.

According to the secretary of the Club, Mr Kayode Oladeji, in a statement, noted that 38 members participated in the tourney divided into three categories-men, women and veterans.

Team Kunle Ogedengbe/Kamar Ajisafe defeated Bayo Daodu/Mustapha Muibi 2-6, 6-3, 6- 2 to emerge the overall winner in the men’s category which featured 32 members.

In the women’s category, Funmi Adenuga won, having walked over Tope Akinola.

In the veterans, team Tony Baba/Dr Layi Adeoti trounced Emmanuel Money/Abraham Okpro 6-3, 6-4 straight win.

The prices won included from Fridge, water dispenser, home theatre and other electrical gadgets .

Speaking at the event graced by dignatories, including a former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Adejare Bello, the sponsor, Otunba Adeyemo said he was motivated because of his desire of seeing to the growth of the game of tennis on all fronts.
