Guinea captain Ibrahima Traore has backed Algeria to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
The National Elephants succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to the Desert Foxes in the Round of 16 match at the Alexandria Stadium in Egypt on Sunday.
Germany-based midfielder Traore reflected on Guinea’s elimination from the continental tournament.
“We knew they [Algeria] were strong, No goals conceded, they won all their matches, they have scored nine goals,” he said.

“They were better than us. We knew we had to do better than that but we did not do it.
The left-footed player feels that the Desert Foxes deserved to progress to the quarter-finals where they will face the Barea of Madagascar on Thursday.
“Their victory makes sense. And, even if there have been a lot of surprises,” he added.
“I think they are among the favourites of this AFCON.”
