The foremost sports administrator also commended the female national basketball team, D’ Tigress, for their fine start at the ongoing FIBA Olympics qualifying tournament in Antwerp, Belgium.

Mark, in a statement issued on Friday and made available to newsmen said the achievements (of the two teams) are clear demonstration of the incredible potentials and talents that Nigeria possesses in both football and basketball

“I would like to express my utmost support and encouragement to the team as they face the host nation, Ivory Coast, in the final match. I urge the Super Eagles to give their absolute best on the field and bring home Nigeria’s fourth continental football title.

“I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to D’ Tigress, Nigeria’s women senior national basketball team, for their remarkable victory over Senegal on Matchday 1 at the FIBA Olympics qualifying tournament in Antwerp, Belgium. Coach Rena Wakama and the entire team have displayed tremendous skill and determination, and they truly deserve this triumph. It is my belief that Coach Wakama deserves national honours for her outstanding leadership and dedication to the team.

“These achievements demonstrate the incredible potential and talent that Nigeria possesses in both football and basketball. It is a testament to the Nigerian spirit and the unwavering determination of our athletes and coaches.
