According to former teammate and close friend Sergio Aguero, there is a “50 percent” chance of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona.
Messi left Barca for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 after an illustrious spell with the Catalan club, winning 10 La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.
However, Messi’s stint in Paris has been mixed, failing to deliver PSG’s first Champions League victory in the last two seasons, being knocked out in the last 16.

Messi recently scored his 800th career goal, a stunning free-kick, in Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Panama on Thursday after returning from World Cup glory in Qatar.
With his contract at the Parc des Princes ending this season, Aguero believes that the footballer’s return to Barca is possible and even urged Barca president Joan Laporta to bring him back to the Camp Nou.
Aguero stated, “Barcelona is his home, he has to finish his career here. My feeling is that there is a 50 percent chance that he will return. If Laporta does that step [to contact Messi], everything will be much closer to happening.”
Messi could have the opportunity to score his 100th goal for Argentina on Tuesday against Curacao.
