COVENTRY City striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni was expected to have undergone scan on Monday following the injury he sustained in the 1-3 loss to Swidon Town last weekend at Ricoh Arena in a League One game.
According to the mirror.co.uk, Aiyegbeni, who was signed by Russell Slade on a short-term contract earlier this month, will undergo a scan to discover the full extent of the injury which, depending on the severity of the tear, could bring a premature end to his season.
The former Everton and Portsmouth star could now be out for the rest of the season.
Aiyegbeni who was introduced into the game in the 70th minute with the Sky Blues already down by two goals assisted George Thomas with a pass to score a late consolatory goal after a three goals deficit and shortly went down in what was termed to be a hamstring injury.
