Akande Tunde Movement to hold table tennis tournaments, May 5

A non-governmental Organisation, Akande Tunde Movement (ATM) will hold a Table Tennis Tournament on 5th of May 2024.

The event will be held at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital and Cotonou , Benin Republic respectively.

In a statement signed by its founder, Dr Kazeem Akande, and made available to Sporting Tribune on Tuesday, the founder noted that the tournament will be held in celebration of his 45th birthday anniversary.

The philanthropist further stated in the statement that the competition is open to the beneficiaries of the foundation’s free tutorial classes held across ten centers in Ido local government.

Winners that emerge at the event will win prizes including cash, sponsorship of NECO, GCE  examination fees, other academic scholarship awards among others.

Akande stated that the foundation has always given support to education through payment of examination fees of indigent students, organising of tutorial classes and scholarships among others.

According to him,  the foundation was established to bridge the gap as most brilliant students, oftentimes, drop out of school for their inability to meet up with the financial requirements.

“I have been so focused in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor, as well as initiating social intervention programmes, where every individual, regardless of his or her economic status, can access quality education, healthcare and other basic essential services”, the statement reads.
