Akinwunmi, Lulu, Ogunjobi, Gara Gombe, others for Oyo SWAN Week celebration

First Vice-President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and Chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Former NFF President, Alhaji Sanni Lulu, Former Scribe of the NFF and Chairman, Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Alhaji Gara Gombe and host of others are among dignitaries expected to grace the annual sports week of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State chapter.

Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, is expected to deliver a lecture with the topic: Russia 2018 World World Cup: Roadmap to success, where he will be giving insight into how Nigeria’s representatives at the mundial are going to fare and represent the country well.

Other features of the Oyo SWAN Week celebration are: Five-Aside football competition sponsored by Alhaji Gara Gombe among media organisations in Oyo State, Table tennis, Tug of War and Fitness Walk. The fitness walk will involve the Oyo State Sports Council, corporate bodies and security agencies such as the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service and host of others.

The celebration will be rounded off with a dinner/award night. The recipients of the awards are individuals who have contributed one way or the other to the development of sports in the country. They are: Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Alhaji Gara Gombe, Alhaji Tade Azeez, Alhaji Sani Lulu, Alhaji Ahmed Fresh and Dr Musa Oshodi.

Speaking ahead of the programme, the Chairman of the association, Adeniyi Alebiosu, said this year’s programme is expected to be a unique one as the committee saddled with the responsibility of organisation is on top of the game.
