Akwa United lifts 2017 Aiteo Cup trophy

Akwa United has emerged the winner of the 2017 Aiteo Cup after defeating Niger Tornadoes 3-2 on penalties in the final played at the Agege Stadium Sunday.

The match has ended goalless after the ninety minutes duration .Both sides had lost many scoring chances during the duration of the match with the eventual winner Akwa United Football Club as a major culprit.

The match which was witnessed by the CaF president Ahmad ahmad, the Lagos stae gover Akinwunmi Ambode and AkwaIbom state governor saw the the winner smilling to the bank with twenty five million naira

The two sides had missed three penalty during the first five before Gabriel Okechukwu last kick gave his side the trohy.

Speaking after the trophy presentation,Akwa United coach Mailikawa having commended his players for their effort said the victory was a well deserved one for his team having prepared for it.
