Arsenal’s Sanchez injured on Chile duty

ALEXIS SANCHEZ is being examined to see if he has suffered a muscle tear, according to reports

CNN Chile say the forward reported for international duty before being sent off for tests.

He has now been ruled out of Chile’s trip to Colombia on Thursday.

But that will be the least of Arsene Wenger’s worries as one of his most important players could be facing months out if the injury is as serious as feared.

Sanchez has had a brilliant start to the season, bagging eight goals and providing seven assists.

Wenger has been more careful with Sanchez this year after he picked up a hamstring injury last term after entering what he called the ‘red zone’.

But the Arsenal boss has a difficult job on his hands trying to get Sanchez to take time out.

The forward explained: “He told me to rest, but I don’t like to rest. Neither in the matches.

“I don’t like to be out, I get upset, I go home sad, because I train to play, I rest to play.

“It’s my job and I do everything to perform at 100 per cent.”
