Alexis Sanchez signing ‘not feasible’

Alexis Sanchez is yet to commit to Arsenal, as talk of a move to Manchester City or Bayern Munich increases.

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness, however, has played down reports linking the Chilean forward to his side, admitting it is ‘not feasible’ for the Bavarian club to compete with Manchester City for a big-money signing.

‘I’m not in the operational side. [Chairman] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has not yet come to me, so the matter doesn’t seem to be too urgent with him’, he told German outlet ‘Kicker’.

Sanchez would likely cost over £50 million, while his salary requirements could not be matched by Bayern: ‘A €20 million salary is probably not feasible’, Hoeness said. Manchester City, on the other hand, are willing to offer the 28-year-old wages potentially worth £350,000 a week.

Former Bayern Munich manager Omar Hitzfield insisted that the signing was as unlikely as it would be unnecessary: ‘If you could get a Sanchez, someone would have to go back to the bank, that can create problems. One must not forget that you have incredible players with Ribery, Robben, Muller, Thiago, Lewandowski’, Hotzfield stated.
