Former Super Eagles coach, Clemens Westerhof has told SCORENigeria he expects Nigeria to win Friday’s dead-rubber World Cup qualifier in Algeria.
Dutchman Westerhof spoke from his country home in the Netherlands.
“Yes, the Super Eagles must win in Algeria,” he said.
“We (referring to his Super Eagles squad of 1994) drew to go to the World Cup (in USA 1994).
“In 2006, The Super Eagles won in Algeria.
“The Super Eagles are strong again.
“They have already qualified for the World Cup in Russia, so they must finish the job in Algeria.”
The Super Eagles picked the Group B sole ticket for the 2018 FIFA World Cup billed for Russia following an Alex Iwobi lone strike against Chipolopolo of Zambia October 7 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
There have been 18 competitive games between Nigeria and Algeria with the West African country holding the head-to-head advantage with nine wins, six defeats and three draws going into Friday’s clash.
