Ahead of the All Africa Games slated for Accra, Ghana later in the year and as parts of preparations to guarantee podium finish for Nigerian athletes, Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, will on Thursday, 11th January, meet with sports federation presidents to deliberate on the way forward and to strategise discussions about the country’s success at the Games.
According to a release from the media office of the minister, the meeting aims to foster collaboration, synchronise plans and strategise collective actions among the various sports federations and to initiate proactive plans that will enhance Nigeria’s competitive edge at the Games.
“Our nation boasts exceptional athletic talents across various disciplines. This meeting is a pivotal step towards harnessing our collective potential and ensuring a synchronized approach in our quest for success at the Africa Games.
“The agenda will encompass discussions on athlete preparation, resource allocation, administrative coordination and leveraging expertise to optimize Nigeria’s performance at the continental sporting event.
“The sports minister’s proactive engagement with the Federation heads signify the government’s passion to support and empower Nigerian athletes on their journey to sporting excellence.
“The meeting is anticipated to strengthen unity, streamline strategies and foster a cohesive environment conducive to achieving remarkable feats at the African Games coming up in March this year”, the statement read.
