Chicharito signed from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
West Ham boss has a selection headache facing him, after claiming it is “almost impossible” to play his two talismen Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll together.
The latter will not be risked by Bilic when his side host Bolton in the Carabao Cup, given that it would amount to three match in eight days for the England international. Carroll is notoriously injury stricken, and is indeed still in the later recovery stages from his latest thigh injury.
Bilic says it is “hard to please everyone” when it comes to fielding a first team.
“I think about that the most [playing two upfront], but it’s very hard to put them as their ideal positions as two strikers,’ the Hammers boss said. ‘It looks good on paper, it’s easy to do, but then it’s very hard to have three at the back (in defence). It’s almost impossible.”
“You want to have a lot of them on the pitch at the same time,” Bilic added. “Of course I’m thinking about that. Chicharito is playing in a position which is not his position. I spoke with him, he’s a great lad, he’s doing a job, of course.”
Speaking on Andy Carroll, he added: “We have to manage him. He looks good, he looks fit, he is training, hopefully he is going to last because that was his problem for ages.
“We tried to manage him last year and two years ago but it didn’t help a lot — but this season we are managing him a little bit different.”
