The 27-year old forward beat Ali Al-Habsi, Lewis Dunk and Dwight Gayle to clinch the best player in the English Championship
Nigeria international, Sone Aluko has won the English Championship player of the month of October.
The 27-year old joined Fulham from Hull City and he has being in fine form for the Craven Cottage outfit, scoring one and creating three assists in the moth under review.
Aluko beat the likes of Ali Al-Habsi (Reading), Lewis Dunk and Dwight Gayle to the prestigious award.
He has scored three goals in fifteen appearances for the Cottagers since he joined them in the summer of 2016.
Aluko said: “Personally it’s a great feeling to be recognised with this award. It’s a nice feeling to be publicly rewarded for your efforts.”
“Ultimately I think it’s a team award. I wouldn’t get this award if the team weren’t winning and it’s a credit to my teammates and all the staff who have provided me with a platform to play well on.”
“The results have gone our way recently and because of this I’ve been able to show my best form.”
While, NEWCASTLE boss Rafa Benitez has been named the Championship manager of the month for October.
The Magpies won all six of their league fixtures, conceding just two goals in the process.
Their terrific run of form has seen them move clear at the top of the table and Benitez said his gong is reward for a great team effort.
“I’m really pleased,” he told the EFL.
“As a manager when you win a trophy it means that your staff, your players, the people who work in the club, they are working very hard.
“So I think they also deserve this award and it’s important for everyone here.”
