Coach Emmanuel Amuneke with his Al Khartoum players.
Coach Emmanuel Amuneke has said he is confident he will succeed at Sudanese club Al Khartoum.
Ex-Flying Eagles coach Amuneke has signed a two-year contract and praised the quality of players he met on ground, although he retains hope of improving certain areas within the team.
He told SCORENigeria: “Work has begun already, we are mapping out strategies ahead of the second round of the league.
“It is my responsibility to nurture the team to gain a continental ticket and although I am not promising a continental ticket, I remain resolute ahead of the task ahead.
“I have a goal as a coach which will be my source of inspiration. I have been training the boys for about two weeks now and their response has been quite impressive.

“As regards the language barrier, I am constantly improving and having some of them understand English has been very beneficial.”
The former CAF African Footballer of the Year added: “As a professional coach, I should cope in any given environment, having played and coped in Spain and Egypt, I believe Sudan will be no different.”
