The Colombian international has received death threats from a group going by the name of Legion Holk
JAMES RODRIGUEZ has received death threats as his mother revealed a group called Legion Holk have targeted the Real Madrid star.
The FBI are currently monitoring the group’s social media accounts after making numerous threats towards Rodriguez.
The Twitter account which initially targeted Rodriguez is called @Frekeman and is supposedly being operated in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The image for the Twitter account appears to be a young boy, with the hashtag “#HollArmy” in the description.
The account, @Frekeman, was only created this month and officials are unsure whether the threats are genuine or just from an online troll.
One the account’s tweets features an image of a box full of bullets and a range of guns, with a message on the box saying: “James Rodriguez, Legion Holk is watching you.”
And the Colombian international’s mum, Pilar Rubio, brought the threats to the public’s attention.
She tweeted a range of the threats directed to her son and made a message she had received from the group public.
Rubio tweeted:“What’s the matter with these people, are they mad? They have sent me a message saying that it would be better to see him dead.”
She also exposed other threats Rodriguez and his family had received.
The range of tweets translated to:
“I am on my way to to your house, I am armed, say goodbye to everything you love.”
“#JamesVerguenzaNacional human trash.”
“Do you want to see how I am going to make you find James dead?”
The 27-year-old has featured seven times for Los Blancos this season, having only found the back of the net once.
But recently the attacking midfielder left Colombia’s squad to face Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier after picking up a calf injury.
