Ancelotti unruffled by Bayern form

Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti remains upbeat despite his side’s drop in form prior to the international break.

Ancelotti’s men find themselves without a win from their past two matches after losing to Atletico Madrid, before being held to a 1-1 draw by FC Cologne and 2-2 by Frankfurt last weekend.

Amid a run of mixed results, the Italian feels his team’s performances have begin to suffer as a result of heavy fixture congestion.

We can trace the dip in form all the way back to the start of the season and the sheer weight of games we had to play,” he said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

We couldn’t call on all our players and we paid the price for it in the last two games.

I’m not worried. We need a fresh start after the international break.”

The 57-year-old also praised previous manager Pep Guardiola for “passing on a lot of knowledge to the players and giving Bayern a sureness to their play.”

Die Roten will look to get back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt, with the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.
