President, Authentic Nigeria Football Supporters Club (ANFSC), Mr. Abayomi Ogunjimi on Wednesday donated face masks to members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in the country.
The president while handing over the face masks to members of the sports writers in Oyo state through a representative urged them to take precaution while discharging their duties.
‘Bonfre’ as fondly called, said he donated the masks to penpushers for their vulnerability to the dreaded disease as frontline workers in the fight against the spread of the pandemic.
“I considered this very necessary because journalists especially sports writers are part of the essential workers in the fight against the spread of the pandemic.
“Majority of these journalists are radio and TV presenters, who deal with microphone and if you follow the trend of this disease, it has killed over 50 journalists across the world most of whom contacted the virus through the use of microphone.

“So, I discovered that, journalists are not listed among the those given palliatives, therefore, in my little way, I found it necessary to support them,” Ogunjimi said.
