ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has slammed the treatment of Paul Pogba and believes he needs affection to rediscover his form.
France thrashed Bulgaria 4-1 last night but the £89m world-record Manchester United signing once again struggled.
Kevin Gameiro scored twice as well as Dimitri Payet and Griezmann to give Didier Deschamps’ men their first World Cup qualifying win.
“Paul needs affection,” Griezmann told L’Equipe. “He tries to do his best, give everything.
“He has a different game with [former club] Juve, Manchester and here.
“We expect him to play for the team. Not that he scores goals from 50 metres.”
Pogba has made eight appearances for United so far, scoring just one goal and struggling this season.
The 23-year-old has been first-choice for Jose Mourinho but has only shown glimpses of his talent for the Red Devils.
Griezmann remains convinced of Pogba’s talents though and feels he needs to stop being pressured by the media.
