Antonio Conte sacked by Chelsea? Two leading bookies suspend betting on Italian boss being axed by Roman Abramovich

SunSport understands Conte has been at Stamford Bridge today, while the players attended training at Cobham

BETTING has been suspended on Antonio Conte being the next Premier League to be sacked.

Following a flurry of bets this afternoon, the former Italian boss is now firm favourite to be the second manager to lose his job.

Sun Bets, Betway and Paddy Power have both suspended betting on Conte being the second Premier League boss to get the boot.

SunSport understands that Conte was not at the Cobham training ground today, and was instead at Stamford Bridge.

A spokesperson for Sun Bets said: “We’ve currently suspended the next Premier League manager to go until the rumours about Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea settle down.

“The shift in the odds, backed down from 16/1 to 4/1 favourite, suggests that Conte’s future at the Bridge hangs in the balance.
“Diego Simeone is Sun Bets 7/2 favourite to take over the reigns.”

And a spokesman for Paddy Power added: “It sounds like Antonio gone-te, according to our bettors at least.

“Atletico manager Diego Simeone, who recently reduced his contract with La Liga leaders, is our favourite to be next Blues boss – with Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe the leading English contender.”

Meanwhile Betfair have slashed their odds from 33/1 to 6/1, and Ladbrokes have done similar, from 20/1 to 6/1.

William Hill have Conte as fourth-favourite to go, at 4/1.

Two weeks ago, Francesco Guidolin was the league’s first casualty when Swansea dispensed with his services.

American Bob Bradley was immediately installed as his successor.

Chelsea host champions Leicester on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, with a 12.30pm.
