Arsenal fight from behind in 4-2 win over Aston Villa to keep title hopes alive

Arsenal has kept their Premier League title hopes alive after securing a nervy 4-2 victory over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were made to work hard for the win, which saw them come from behind twice before eventually securing the three points.

The game got off to a disappointing start for Arsenal, with Villa taking the lead just five minutes into the game through Ollie Watkins. However, the home side responded well and equalized in the 16th minute through a fantastic volley from Bukayo Saka.

Villa then went ahead once again in the 31st minute thanks to a well-taken goal from Philippe Coutinho, but Arsenal continued to fight and managed to level things up once again just after the hour mark. Oleksandr Zinchenko scored his first goal for Arsenal with a well-placed shot from outside the area, and the game was finely balanced at 2-2 heading into the closing stages.

With both teams pushing hard for a winner, it was Arsenal who eventually came out on top thanks to a stroke of luck in the dying moments of the game. Jorginho, who had joined the Gunners from Chelsea in January, saw his shot from outside the box hit the crossbar before bouncing off Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and into the net. The goal proved to be the winner, and Gabriel Martinelli added a fourth for Arsenal in stoppage time to seal the victory.

The win is a huge relief for Mikel Arteta’s side, who had been on a three-game winless streak in the Premier League. The victory sees them move three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, although the defending champions have a game in hand.

Despite the nervy performance, Arsenal will be pleased to have secured the win and kept their title hopes alive. With some tough fixtures coming up, they will need to continue to work hard and grind out results if they are to stay in the hunt for the Premier League trophy.
