Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is looking to let some players go before the club make any more signings this summer.

The Gunners have added Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac to their squad but are now looking to offload several players before bringing in any more new faces.

Arsenal currently have 33 players in their senior squad and Lucas Perez, Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson are among the players have been linked with a move away from the Emirates.

Speaking after Arsenal’s win against Chelsea in the FA Community Shield, Wenger said, “the number (in the squad) is too high. We will let some players go.”

“Too much competition for places is detrimental, but not enough competition for places is detrimental as well.”
