Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has had his house in Barcelona seized by the Spanish government amid his ongoing tax investigation.
The Chilean has been accused of failing to pay £2.6m in tax for three years from 2011 to 2013.
And now Mundo Deportivo has revealed an official document from the Spanish treasury that confirms the 27-year-old’s property has been seized.
Sanchez has been accused by Spanish tax authorities of avoiding payments on his image rights by using an offshore company in Malta.
Last month, Sanchez’s agent released a statement which denied all allegations.
‘Alexis Sanchez has fully obeyed the laws imposed by the countries where he has resided,’ it read.
‘He has paid taxes to all the local tax and revenue organisations.
‘Furthermore, all of his personal and image rights income has been declared to all of those national tax and revenue agencies.’
